Consciousness

The Mystery of Consciousness

One of humanity's greatest unanswered questions.

Consciousness is the one part of reality each of us knows from the inside. A brain scan can show what changes when a person sees red, remembers a parent, or feels pain, but the scan is not the redness, the memory, or the hurt itself. Apotheosis takes that inner reality seriously. We believe individual minds may be genuine centers of experience within Divine Reality: distinct, valuable, and capable of deeper alignment without being erased. Neuroscience has not proven a divine consciousness, but neither has it explained why physical activity is accompanied by experience at all. That unanswered fact leaves room for disciplined theological inquiry.
